Today was the final straw for me. I ran out to the store to buy Resident Evil 5 and an extra controller because I lost one of them. Anyway, my purchase was about $100…no big deal at the time because I thought I would be playing RE5 in no time! I sure was wrong…

I put my BRAND NEW game into my xbox and within 2 minutes of playing, the famous ‘Unable to Read DVD’ error started popping up. At first I just thought a simple restart would fix it. Nope! After messing around with it for about an hour, me and my brother made no progress at all. This finally confirms my thought that it has nothing to do with a dirty or scratched DVD because I just bought the game the same day…and was unable to get no more than a few minutes of game play time out of it.

So the error is for sure either a hardware problem or a software problem. My question is, why haven’t they been able to fix the famour dvd read error yet? I had the same exact problem with my 2 original xboxes that I bought. So now, over 5 years+ later, the same error happens on a completely different platform…the 360.

This is beginning to make me think that Microsoft has put these errors in there on purpose(OK that is a little over the top but…) because they want to nab another $130-$140 dollars out of the console owners. Seriously, this problem SHOULD be fixed by now.

Don’t give into Microsoft!

I’m so mad that I have spent all this money and am unable to get decent use out of it. There is no way I am paying $130 just to have them fix something that should have been working in the first place. I am boycotting Microsoft Tech Support for sure.
